Welcome to BreezySplits! This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application ("App"). Our core principle is privacy by design, focusing on minimal data handling and local storage.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

BreezySplits is designed to function entirely offline and does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data on external servers. We do not collect:

  • Personal identification information (like your name, email address, phone number) unless you voluntarily enter it as a "Member Name" within a specific trip you create locally on your device.
  • Device identifiers, location data, usage analytics, or any other information automatically transmitted by your device.
  • Payment information or financial account details.

2. Information You Provide Locally

All data you enter into BreezySplits is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's Core Data framework. This data includes:

  • Trip Information: Trip names, types, dates, country, primary currency, and supported currencies you define.
  • Member Information: Names of participants you add to a trip.
  • Transaction Information: Details about expenses and paybacks, including amounts, currencies, titles, categories, dates, who paid, and how costs are split among members.

This information resides only within the App's local storage on your specific device. It is not accessible to us or any third party through the App.

3. How Your Information is Used (Locally)

The information you enter and store locally is used solely for the core functionality of the App on your device:

  • To organize and display your trips, members, and transactions.
  • To calculate balances between members within a trip.
  • To generate suggested settlement payments based on the data you entered.
  • To allow you to manage and view your shared expenses.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Local Storage: All data is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data.
  • Security: The security of your locally stored data depends on the security measures you employ on your own device (e.g., passcode, Face ID/Touch ID).
  • Data Loss: Because data is stored only locally, if you lose your device, delete the App, or use the "Reset All Data" feature, your data will be permanently lost. There is no cloud backup or recovery feature provided by the App itself.

5. Data Sharing

We do not share any data you enter into the App with any third parties because the data is never transmitted from your device by the App.

6. Your Control Over Your Information

You have full control over the data stored within the App on your device:

  • You can view, edit, and delete individual expenses, paybacks, members, and trips at any time.
  • You can use the "Reset All Data" feature in the App's settings to permanently delete all data stored by the App on your device.

7. Children's Privacy

BreezySplits is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information within the app, please use the app's deletion features to remove it.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on the App Store page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes are effective when they are posted.
